American Apparel’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Redesign
American Apparel was a unique brand, known for their often times racy photography. I redesigned the existing 14 page formal handbook to a piece that aligns more with the brand. The original document looked more like a legal document that a new employee would potentially glance at once during their employment, or merely once at their lunch break once their phone had died. I wanted to create something engaging for employees to leaf through, and use.

American Apparel has built an empire for their clothing basics with often times racy advertisements with founder Dov Charney. Their ads are controversial, garnering them so much attention. Nearly nude photographs are ubiquitous in their work, and creating this material without a nod to it would be incomplete.
